Beach time

No, I am not leaving for the beach this weekend…….my title simply references my strong desire to BE at the beach this weekend!

I love everything about the beach….the sound of the waves crashing to shore, watching kids build sand castles, soaking up the sun, the sand between my toes, the smell of Banana Boat Tanning Lotion and strolling up and down the beach!  It is on my top five list of ways to relax!

I need it after the week I’ve had at my new job!  I am loving being busy….but did I mention I was busy?  I mean busy!  Of course, I’ll have to confess that some of it is due to time spent trying to figure out the word processing program they use.  I am supposed to be able to pull up financial reports and insert new figures for the year and create a new document.  But something strange starts to happen when I “typeover” existing figures.  I have columns changing places and dollar signs going everywhere!  It is sort of like walking into someone’s kitchen that you’ve never been in before and trying to cook a gourmet meal….you have to open every cabinet just to see where things are!  I’m sure once I get all these “cabinets” figured out, things will go more smoothly.

Oops, here I am fussing and I really do love my new job.  I just want to whack the computer upside it’s head every once in a while just to remind it that I am in control!!

And of course, that takes me back to my beach trip.  After all, June is just around the corner and that is officially summer, right?  And what summer is complete without some time at the beach?  It’s a great excuse to go bathing suit shopping (ok, so that’s my least favorite part about the beach!), and get new flip flops, a big pair of sunglasses and a new cooler to keep my Pepsi’s ice cold!!  I already have a good mystery book that I bought at Books-a-Million the other day that I am just saving for the trip.

Even though I can’t go this weekend, I think I’m going to go ahead and pencil the date into my planner.  I’ll feel better just knowing it is on the books!
