Pool time

Okay, so this isn’t exactly a picture of my pool….but i won’t complain too much cause I’m just happy the warm weather is here and i have a pool to hang out by so that I can soak up the wonderful warm rays.

Sunday was one of those cloudless days…..the sky looked just like my favorite “sky blue” crayon i used to color with.  I grabbed K’s ipod, hunted up my bathing suit that I’d stored away six months ago and stretched out on the lounge chair.

Yesterday was another lovely day….too bad i had to work.

And too bad that today is supposed to be a stormy day.  It’s been a long time since i’ve seen a rain chance of 100%.  Guess that means no way around it….we’re going to see some rain.

I hope it doesn’t interfere too bad with the trip to Waycross.  The band travels to Waycross for their District evaluation performance.  You may remember me talking about one of the songs they are learning, “The American Ellegy”…..just an amazing peice of music.  It takes eleven minutes to perform it and the band does an outstanding job interpretating the song.

They are supposed to leave the school at 1:00PM……and according the news, that is exactly when strong thunder storms are supposed to start hitting the hardest.  Oh well, when are weather men ever accurate?

The Ultimate

I’ve had several people ask me about the new recipe i’ve been making….The Ultimate Coffee Cake…..so i’m going to see if i can paste it below.  I discovered the Paula Deen recipe about two weeks ago and i’ve already made it three times.  It is SO good….i think i could eat the whole thing myself.

Ultimate Coffee Cake

16 to 18 unbaked frozen dinner rolls
1 (3-ounce) package regular butterscotch pudding mix, not instant
1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
1/2 cup pecans, chopped
1 stick (1/2 cup) butter, melted

The night before place frozen rolls in well greased Bundt pan. Sprinkle dry pudding mix over rolls. Sprinkle brown sugar over pudding mix. Sprinkle chopped pecans over brown sugar. Pour melted butter over all. To prevent the dough from forming a hard crust while its rising overnight, cover with a damp towel or tightly wrap with plastic wrap. Let rise overnight at room temperature, about 8 to 10 hours.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Bake in oven for 30 minutes. Remove from the oven and allow to cool for 5 minutes. Turn pan over onto a serving platter to remove. Serve by pulling apart chunks with forks.

You know i don’t just think i could eat the whole thing by myself, i KNOW i could eat it all!
