Today was a field trip to Grand Bay with the 7th graders from VMS.  We were afraid with all the rain we wouldn’t get to climb the four story tower…..but after lunch, the weather cleared up and we took the long hike down the boardwalk, through the swamp, to the tower. 
 The kids loved it when they made it to the top, because we were able to see a huge alligator!  It was just sitting out in the mud, enjoying the day.  I was glad we were four stories up and WAY out of it’s reach!

The last time i went on a field trip to Grand Bay, this is what it looked like:
It was a really cold day in February, all the leaves were off the trees and the wind was blowing right through our coats!  Paige was in First Grade.  After we walked the boardwalk, we headed back to the picnic area to have lunch and i just remember thinking how cold it was and how i couldn’t wait to get back on the bus.

Today the weather was perfect.  It was overcast and there was light breeze blowing.  And even though the kids are 13 instead of 7, they were very well behaved.

We ran out of time at the end of the day and didn’t get to hold the baby alligator or the snake.  boo hoo
