so it’s Monday…

….and right now i have a sick little girl at home.

Whenever Paige gets sick, it comes on all of a sudden.  There’s not usually much warning….just a “mom, i don’t feel good” and then she’s hacking and coughing and down with a fever.

Of course what else can you expect with this hot….cold…..hot….cold again weather?

Saturday it was beautiful.  My friend, L. who is visiting with us for a few days, and i went to a few shops around town.  We headed out to Quitman first to check out Twisted Sisters and a few antique shops.  It was windy, but warm outside.  L. had worn layers and it wasn’t long before the first layer came off.  She’d packed several sweaters because when she left Ohio, it was 20 degrees.  Who knew she wasn’t going to need them until Sunday when the temperature dropped 30 degrees!  I had emailed her and told her it was forecasted to be warm here, but she said she’d already packed.  And besides…..you can’t always trust that weather man!

But this time, turns out he was right.  We had several wonderful days of 75ish degree weather and woke up Sunday morning to some freezing winds blowing!  And by Sunday night we were looking on facebook at our friend’s snow pictures who lives just two hours North of us!  If Paige hadn’t been sick, we might have just loaded up the car and driven up to Macon to see the snow!

Not that L. is excited about snow….she sees that all the time.  :0)

She’s heading home today.  She was going to swing through the Carolinas to catch up with some other friends, but the weather reports say that they are all snowed in and she’s decided she may not want to drive that route after all.

It’s been so great having her here.  She is so easy to be around.  She’s the kind of friend you can tell everthing too, or say nothing at all.  She is comfortable in her own skin.  She is a devoted wife and mother.  She is creative and artistic.  She is graceful and elegant.  She can be mischevious.  Whatever she starts, she finishes.  She dreams and plans and does.  She is one of a kind.
