Was it you?
I was sitting here yesterday morning…
just waiting to place my order for a cinnamon & raison biscuit and some coffee (and maybe some of those country potatos just in case i needed something salty). The line wasn’t too long. There was just two vehicles in line when i pulled up.
I got to the speaker and placed my order.
In just a few minutes it was my turn at the window. As the lady started to hand me my coffee, i started to hand her my money.
She said, “it’s already paid for.”
I think i said something intelligent like, “huh”?
“Your order”, she said. “The person in front of you paid for it.”
She went on to tell me that it happens occasionally. Someone will offer to pay for the people behind them. She asked if i knew the person and unfortunately, i couldn’t answer yes or no because to tell you the truth, i had no idea what the vehicle in front of me looked like.
Ya’ll know my skills of observation.
I drove up to the office a few weeks ago and one of the girls mentioned how great it was now that they’d cut down that big tree out front. I had to walk outside with her to see what she as talking about and sure enough, the big Bradford Pear was gone. I mean the REALLY BIG bradford pear tree. Not even a stump was left. I think that’s what threw me off. If they’d left the stump, i probably would have noticed!! But i digress….
I was treated to a random act of kindness.
How nice.
And how surprising.
I enjoy doing raok’s for people i know…people who i feel are deserving of some kindness in their life…..but for a complete stranger?
Hummmmm….
It may be time to pay it forward.
