I’m sitting here trying to think of something interesting to chat about. But really, i’ve got nothing.
It is rather quiet around here.
The new school year has started and seems to be going well.
Paige loves being an 8th grader i think. I hope she’ll enjoy it as much when she heads to high school next year.
Karlee LOVES being a senior…duh! But she’s also a freshman at VSU. She’s signed up to take an English class at VSU….which means we had to go to the admissions office at VSU and register her. AND she’ll have to attend freshman orientation tomorrow morning at VSU. yikes! all this for one class?
i really thought the high school would just take care of all this…but turns out she will have a VSU email address, a parking pass….and when she graduates from VHS next year, she’ll be considered an early enrollee at VSU with credits towards her freshman year!
Band director seems to be what she’s heading towards. The girl loves music, that’s for sure!
When i was pregnant with her, i just dreamed that she would like music a little bit so that we’d have something to enjoy together.
Wow…God really answered that one.
And then when Paige came along, i was just thrilled to finally be having a second baby and the fact that she loves music too is just an added blessing in my life!
I love the days when the tv is off at our house. Because invariably, one of them will head to the piano to play something. It’s like the house is empty without the sound of some music playing.
I think it would be so awesome to have a JOB in music. Because just being AROUND music makes me happy. Like when i go to the band room at the high school to pick up kids payments or to have the director sign a check (since i’m the band treasurer), and i hear the kids playing their instruments i think, “how can you EVER have a bad day when you work around sounds like that?” Even listening to the percussion group gets me excited!
So if Karlee and/or Paige ends up somewhere in the music field…how cool!
And if you want to hear some great music, just drive by the high school and listen to the band rehearsing every Monday, Tuesday and Thursday afternoon…..it’s awesome!
